A Trip Down Marga's Lane...

PAIN KILLA

It’s finally here!!! It seemed like this day would never come. I’m really excited to put out new music. I know a lot of y’all have only gotten a taste of my piano-vocal driven ballads and that is why I’m really excited to put out something new and different. I have always had this other side of me (the dancer side, if you will) that most don’t know about. It took teaming up with the right producer to bring forth my musical visions. I was so blessed to be able to collaborate with not only a very talented producer but also a good friend. I have had this concept  in my lyric book for the past year and it has finally come to life. From my heart to yours, please enjoy “Pain Killa”.

Will be available for download on iTunes May 20th.

Pain Killa – In The Studio

Behind the scenes look in the studio working on my first single, “Pain Killa”, off my forthcoming EP. Can’t wait to share the full song with y’all! Coming this May!!!

Updates…

Hello from the studio! I know it’s been a minute since I’ve posted and that is going to change starting…NOW!!

Currently, I’m finishing up the vocals for another song for my forthcoming EP. I am beyond excited to release all of this new music. I started this journey last August and it’s coming so close to the end. I have had the privilege of working with some of my very talented friends, who have believed in me from the beginning. Not only are they producers, engineers, songwriters, vocal producers, they  are genuinely amazing people! And also my therapists from time to time. lol I’m so glad they were apart of my creative process.

Not all of it, however, was glamourous. There were set backs and frustrations, tears and doubts, but along the way things here and there would start to fall into place. I kept my composure , determination, drive and passion and marched on. And am still marching….

I will be releasing the single later this month and I couldn’t be happier with it. It will be a surprise to some of you, and honestly, I’m hoping it will shock most of you. Until next time…

Thank you for your support and love!!

Give Me Love

So excited to share this new cover song with you! This is one of my favorite Ed Sheeran songs. If you haven’t heard the original, I’d definitely advise you to go listen to it. It’s such a beautiful song!!

So from me and my piano to you! <3

The Bitter End – Singer/Songwriter Sessions

I was so honored to have graced the stage at The Bitter End for the Singer/Songwriter Sessions on Sunday nights. I grew up going to the Bitter End and seeing acts such as Tyler Hilton and Lady Gaga before she was Lady Gaga perform there and I just remember wanting to play on that stage so badly. One of my goals finally came true. Thank you to Larry Oakes for allowing me to opportunity and to all my fans, friends and family for coming out to support. Video can be seen here –>>  The Bitter End

For updates please follow www.twitter.com/margalane *New Music coming soon and I’m super excited to share it with you all.

I been thinking ’bout you…

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on my website BUT that’s about to change. I recently (as in just yesterday) recorded my rendition of Frank Ocean’s “Thinking About You” and am super excited to share it with the world. Every once in a while there comes a song that has a profound effect on me and this happens to be one of them. I have been in love with this song for months and have been meaning to record and put my take on it, so finally….here it is….

National Anthem @ The Wizards Game

Last week I had the opportunity to sing the anthem for the Wizards/Bucks game in DC. It was a lot of fun, met a lot of dope people and DC is such a great city. Peep the video here>> NATIONAL ANTHEM

I don’t know if it’s strange or not, but I absolutely love singing the national anthem. I wish I could sing it at every event especially the Super Bowl and the NBA playoffs, hopefully one day soon. I also can’t believe my high school still uses my recording of the national anthem from when I was 17. Such a blessing to have hometown support. God Bless America! xo

Doo Wop (That Thing)

It’s been a while but Ladie and I are back with another cover. We decided to take it back to the 90′s and re-do a popular Lauryn Hill song. S/O to our lovely friends, Crystal, Lacy and Siri for helping us with the video!

National Anthem

Back in January I had the opportunity to sing the anthem for the New Orleans Hornets. I had a blast and definitely stuffed my face with Jambalaya and Shrimp Creole. ; )

New Cover Songs…

In the past few days I decided to record a cover song, mostly because I couldn’t get these particular songs out of my head. I had so much fun working on them that I will be posting more videos soon. S/O to Elliot for playing guitar.
